Paul McLean officially started Nick Knack Cave in 2020 but its roots run deep into childhood.
Discarded chairs and rugs would find their way into my bedroom and later, whole sharehouses would be filled with previously unwanted furniture and ornaments. Through trial and error, l slowly learned to restore furniture and lighting until eventually ‘quitting my day job and going ‘all in’ in 2020.
Nick Knack Cave’s goal is simple. To preserve and celebrate the beauty of a world gone by. We find ourselves drawn mainly to mid-century furniture design, lighting, and industrial objects of the 50’s to the 80’s but are not exclusive to.
Our workshop/warehouse is based in Bellambi Wollongong and we will be sourcing in France September through to November 2024
